Five years ago I was compelled to undergo a severe surgical operation. A year afterwards there began to be complications, which surgeons claimed would necessitate another operation. I decided I would not undergo another. About this time a member of my family was given up by physicians. I borrowed a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, thinking if this relative would read it healing might result. I had been a medical nurse for some years, but I had seen cases pronounced hopeless cured by Christian Science. I began reading the textbook, without thinking of obtaining help for myself. Soon afterwards I found all the discordant conditions had gone without my knowing anything about it. Since then Christian Science has been my only physician, and I have had many proofs of its efficacy, for I have applied it in cases of influenza, burns, lack, and in countless other cases.

I am grateful for membership in a branch church, and I am very grateful for all of Mrs. Eddy's writings and for all of our periodicals. Each one is a source of help and inspiration. While I am deeply grateful for the help Christian Science has been to me and mine I am more than grateful for the spiritual understanding which I have gained.
