I feel I should send my testimony to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and mine the past six years. I came into Science for healing, knowing the doctor could do nothing more for me. Although I did not seem to get much help at first, I bought a copy of Science and Health and began to read. A great many times it was laid aside, but I always went back to it.

My first healing was of constipation for myself and three-months-old boy. Then the belief of severe headaches was overcome, and nervousness to some extent. When my second boy was born, although I had lost faith in medicine, I decided I had better have a doctor and trained nurse. I seemed to become unconscious on the seventh day and remained so for ten days. The doctor did not understand it, so we discharged him and the nurse and called in a practitioner and Christian Science nurse. It was some time before I was able to read or remember. After a few treatments I was able to read one line, then two, and so on until I could read my Bible and Science and Health quite well. It was a long time, however, before I could read anything else, and I realized it was because I needed to read these books so much. A great many thought I had lost my mind and I thought so too, until I attended a Christian Science lecture and the lecturer gave me much food for thought, so that I realized I was really just then gaining my right mind, that mind "which was also in Christ Jesus." One day my husband met the doctor on the street car and he said it was a higher power than his that saved me. Although it was quite a severe lesson, I am grateful for it and have been trying hard since to learn more of this beautiful truth.

About sixteen months later my third boy was born and I had only Christian Science help. While not doing my own work till the ninth day, I was only confined to my bed for a short time and have been healthier and better ever since. My baby is now over two years old and we have relied on Christian Science ever since. We fully realize God is an ever present help at all times. With the help of loving practitioners we have overcome the seeming sense of lack, whooping cough, measles, colds, burns, toothache, influenza, and many other things; my oldest boy was healed of a growth on his neck believed by some to be tubercular.
