On page 454 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read these words: "Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept. Patience must 'have her perfect work.'" The realization of this grand truth dawned on my consciousness during one of the readings of our lesson on "Love," and it resulted in my healing. This was not my first healing, however; about a month previous to that time I was apparently very ill, with frequent paroxysms of untold pain accompanied by nausea, a condition in which I had been for several days, after a two weeks' siege in a hospital, followed by the care of a trained nurse for a week. When I realized I could struggle no longer alone, I sent for a cousin, not having the slightest knowledge that she was a Christian Scientist, however, but nevertheless having a great deal of confidence in her. She came to me, and after a great deal of hesitancy, I finally, though very reluctantly, consented to have her work for me. It was then ten o'clock at night; at twelve o'clock she came into my room and found me sleeping peacefully, the first time in a month. In the morning when I awoke I said to her, "I am all well," and I ate a hearty breakfast, the first meal I had had in a month. I realized immediately that I had been healed through Christian Science, with no convalescing stage through which to struggle.

I am deeply grateful for the guiding Principle which Christian Science teaches, for the correct understanding of God and His creation, for the knowledge of divine Love's protection and power, as demonstrated by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy; and for the daily understanding that if I know the truth, the truth will make me free; also for the opportunity of bringing to others, through Christian Science, the same truth which I have found.
