I have found that "man's extremity is God's opportunity,"...

I have found that "man's extremity is God's opportunity," and I am glad to tell others how, through Christian Science, I was raised from a bed of misery. About five years ago, through a friend I was led to read and study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, for the healing of nervousness and other troubles akin to it. I did not seem to benefit from this study, however, and later turned to materia medica in the form of drugs, later to osteopathy, and finally went to a near-by town for medical aid. It was there through the still, small voice of Truth that I was led to a Christian Science practitioner, and from that moment my healing began through the help given. In two weeks I was at home and beginning my household duties. While to mortal sense my healing has been slow, I am glad; for with it I have received so bountifully of the spiritual uplift, which means so much. The Bible is a new book to me. I can recall the time when I did not appreciate the Revelation of John, but now through the help of Science and Health I find it is one of the beautiful parts of the Bible. At times error would discourage every effort to understand the truth, but I am learning daily through our Christian Science Lesson-Sermons to put error where it belongs.

I can never be grateful enough for the wonderful love and self-immolation of Mrs. Eddy in giving the truth to the world, and for our periodicals, which come in time for every need. Many times when error seemed aggressive, I have found a release from some sense of distress in the articles of some one of our periodicals. While I have not the opportunity of attending services or lectures as many have, for I live too far away, I am so glad that I can read and study the truth every day. I am grateful to my Father-Mother God for His love so freely exemplified in Christ Jesus, and later in Mrs. Eddy's life and works. I am endeavoring to grow more into the grace of God and into perfect understanding.—(Mrs.) MAYBETH R. FEAREY, Elberta, Utah.
