No critic, of the many who have attempted to do so, has yet succeeded in presenting one valid statement proving that Christian Science is not true and Bible teaching. Our sufficient proof of this fact is that Christian Scientists are performing the wonderful works Christ Jesus promised his followers should be able to perform. Jesus once said, "Ye shall know them by their fruits." Years ago Mrs. Eddy stated in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" on page 149, "To-day there is hardly a city, village, or hamlet, in which are not to be found living witnesses and monuments to the virtue and power of Truth, as applied through this Christian system of healing disease."

Christian Science is "growing more and more popular," as our critic says, and this is because it is giving results to the thousands of people who, in ever increasing numbers, are turning to it for help. Christian Science has proved a boon to suffering humanity. The overwhelming evidence of its value is to be found in the fact that it brings health, mental sunshine, and cheer into the lives and experiences of its adherents all over the world. Christian Science is a religion of love and unshrinking trust. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of the Christian Science movement, is held in reverence and affectionate esteem by the vast army of Christian Scientists, because she has rediscovered and reestablished Christ's saving and healing ministry for this and all future ages. She was able to accomplish the great work she was called to accomplish because of her absolute and entire reliance on God. Her counsel to her followers was, "Follow your Leader only so far as she follows Christ" (Message for 1901, p. 34). She has repeatedly been recognized and acclaimed one of the world's greatest religious leaders.

The Christian Science church was instituted for the sole purpose of commemorating the religion Jesus taught and lived. In the Glossary of Science and Health (p. 583), Mrs. Eddy defines church as being "that institution, which affords proof of its utility and is found elevating the race, rousing the dormant understanding from material beliefs to the apprehension of spiritual ideas and the demonstration of divine Science, thereby casting out devils, or error, and healing the sick."
