In a recent issue, there appears an account of a lecture delivered by a Jewish rabbi wherein he attacks Christian Science as a faith cure.

Now, if our friend has discovered something better than Christian Science which will heal the ills of the flesh, I am sure that no one will be more pleased than the Christian Scientists themselves. However, it should be said that Christian Science is not a faith cure in the ordinary acceptance of that term. Very few people have faith in Christian Science until they experience its beneficent influence. Thousands have been healed of disease and sin notwithstanding they had no faith in Christian Science whatever as a healing agent, and only appealed to it as a last resort.

Christian Science healing is faith in God, but it must be accompanied by demonstration. Mere faith is simply a belief, and it is much easier to believe than to understand. It is the understanding of God which enables the Christian Scientist to heal the sick. The Bible tells us that "faith without works is dead," and Christian Science is founded solely upon the Bible teachings in the Old and New Testaments.
