It is now four years since I began the study of Christian Science

It is now four years since I began the study of Christian Science. I was suffering from valvular heart trouble in its last stages, liver trouble, and other complications. The best doctors had said cure was impossible, and thought three months the longest I could stand the struggle, for struggle it was, through the most intense suffering. I am grateful to these good physicians for their attendance during those years. Then I found the way of Truth, for which I had been searching all my life, and by just studying our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and with the light it gave me as I studied the Bible to get the understanding of spiritual truth from it, and prayed earnestly, I became perfectly well and was able to take up my regular routine of duties and my professional work, which I had thought was laid aside for all time.

Far more than the physical healing is the wonderful spiritual uplift that comes to us as we learn to dwell in "the secret place of the most High," as our helpful ninety-first psalm expresses it. Words cannot express what it means to me. I am just learning how to live, and my heart is filled with gratitude to God, who revealed to Mary Baker Eddy the new-old truth of the Christ-presence, here and now, that makes free, and supplies every need so fully. The Monitor, Sentinel, and Journal all bring their helpful messages to our home regularly, showing us better how to solve our problems. I have been healed of inflammatory rheumatism, measles, influenza, and other diseases, and am very grateful to practitioners and friends who so lovingly extend helping hands to those who are still young in the understanding of the truth. I am happy to be a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church, and to have found the truth of real living as Christ Jesus meant us to know and live it.
