In a recent issue there appears the following statement, "The Christian Scientist can cure his own seasickness, but he cannot drive out organic heart disease, if that is his complaint."
Heart disease of every form has been completely healed through Christian Science treatment. A careful examination of the testimonies given in the Christian Science monthly and weekly publications will reveal this. Christian Science heals both organic and functional diseases, for they are both derived from the same source, namely, fear, ignorance, or sin. From this it will be seen that all disease has a mental origin, and can only be eradicated by exorcising from the human consciousness the offending errors and replacing them with the spiritual truth of being as revealed in Christian Science. It takes the Mind of Christ to do this, and the healing is, therefore, moral, physical, and spiritual.
One of the most remarkable effects of Christian Science healing is the earnest desire it awakens in the patient to study the Bible in order to know more about God. It is the only form of healing in the world to-day which has this effect. Our Master, when answering the Jews who accused him of casting out devils by Beelzebub, said, "If I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you." This is the Christ, or Christian Science method.
