To me Christian Science has been a very practical religion
To me Christian Science has been a very practical religion. About ten years ago I was suffering with a serious spinal trouble and from enlargement and hardening of the liver. At this time I was living in northern Indiana, and my son, who lived in Denver, Colorado, advised me to go out there to see if a change of climate would help me, but it did no good. Materia madica proved to be inadequate, for I gradually grew worse, and of the time was unable to be out of bed. When able to be up I could not bend over. Then some friends who were Christian Scientists suggested that I try Christian Science. I began reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and having treatments from a practitioner, and gradually came to understand the power of Truth over erroneous conditions of mortal mind and body. For several years I have been enjoying good health, having been healed of the serious troubles as well as minor ailments.
I truly believe that the Christian Science literature, especially Science and Health, is a beacon light showing the way to a correct understanding of the truth and the power of divine Love as set forth in the Word. It is daily joy and spiritual food. Every day it seems more clear that "with God all things are possible." I am truly thankful to Him for the blessings I have received, and grateful indeed to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the spiritual understanding that has come to many people through her consecrated and loving Christian work.
(Mrs.) Rachel Brenneman, Fort Myers, Fla.
