It is with a heart full of gratitude that I tell of my first coming to Christian Science, as I had been much against it. Eleven years ago my daughter wrote telling me of the healings in her family. After investigating, I finally bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, but would hide it and my other Christian Science literature from my friends, and it was three years before I grasped the great truth that God is Love. Now, thanks to that noble, self-sacrificing woman who gave to us again the religion that Jesus gave us long ago, I have been healed of rheumatism, kidney trouble, hemorrhoids, catarrh, and grippe. Though well along in years, by going to God for strength I can do a young woman's work, and this is a wonder to my neighbors.

One demonstration I would like especially to mention. I was cleaning my stove and had my hand covered with a cloth dipped in coal oil. It came in contact with the fire box and burst into flames. I could only say, "God is good," and keep realizing this till I could throw the blazing cloth in the coal scuttle. I carried it out of doors still blazing, but my hand was not burned at all, nor did it pain me.

Both my husband and I are now members of The Mother Church and take great comfort in all the periodicals. We feel that life would be nothing without Christian Science.
