In
the book of Revelation, following a vivid description of the twelve gates of Jerusalem, we read, "And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
When
one first takes up earnestly the study of Christian Science, turning to divine Love only after having exhausted all known material methods in an endeavor to regain physical health, to overcome an enslaving appetite or a besetting sin,—in other words, in his endeavor to gain spirituality, his experiences will be somewhat analogous to those encountered in the erection of a material building.
Years
ago, when the writer was very young in Christian Science, an inquirer once said to her, "When the people at the Christian Science testimony meetings testify as to their healing, they so often say that they are grateful not only for their healing, but even more so for the spiritual uplifting.
It
sometimes seems very discouraging to one who is trying to live in accordance with Christian Science, to have friends or relatives criticize his motives and actions unjustly.
There
is a peace that passeth understanding; There is a Love that healeth all our fears; There is a joy that's far above, transcendingThe dreams and hopes of all our mortal years.
The average human being lives so entirely within the scope of the material senses that the subject of man's spiritual individuality receives scant attention.
Christian Scientists are pleased to note that the clergyman who criticized their religious beliefs in a sermon as reported in a recent issue, commended the logic by which Christian Science reaches the conclusion that disease and death are errors of mortal mind.
The newspaper announcement of a sermon on "Christian Science and the Bible upon the Doctrine of Sin" was so misleading that in justice to your readers a word of explanation is offered.
In as much as the dictionary states that heresy is "an opinion, or doctrine, subversive of settled beliefs or accepted principles," we will agree with our reverend critic in the statement that Christian Science is heresy.

While
men have always desired freedom, few have had the realization of what true liberty implies or of the nature of the bondage from which they long to be delivered.

When taking up the study of Christian Science I had access to the Sentinel through the loyal work of the local literature distribution committee, and used to turn first of all to the testimonies, which were so beautiful and wonderful to me that they seemed like a continual song of praise to God for His goodness.
I have long been reading the many fine and helpful testimonies in the Journal and the Sentinel and in every instance have been helped in some way; so it is my wish that this account of my healings in Christian Science may be of some benefit to others.
Several years ago an earnest student of Christian Science awoke my interest in the subject, and this was held for about a year, then seemed to turn into resistance.
Christian Science was brought to my notice about eleven years ago by one of my servants, who had been healed after a serious operation and after a physician had given her only one year to live.
Reading the testimonies in the current issue of the Sentinel has brought the realization that to delay in giving my own is to withhold a service which may prove helpful to others, so it is with a thankful heart that I write this, hoping it will meet the eyes of those who still doubt.
My heart is overflowing with gratitude for Christian Science and for all the authorized literature, and for the clear understanding of God as Love and the only power, which Science and Health teaches.
Each
day I'm learning how to beJust a little more like thee,O Lord, so tender, strong, and pure;O thou who didst the cross endure; That we the way might know.
