Shortly after coming here to live, through a business...

Shortly after coming here to live, through a business transaction that could not be avoided I was left alone on the farm a day and a half. A great sense of fear came over me as night approached. I seemed afraid of my own shadow and imagined all kinds of horrid things. I managed to go upstairs for our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and read it, meanwhile declaring the truth. The sense of fear was soon overcome, and since that time I have taken walks alone after dark without being the least timid.

I am more than grateful for the blessings that are so numerous to me and mine, for God's loving care and protection. Since taking up the study of Christian Science, about two years ago, both of my sons have been wonderfully blessed through their slight knowledge of the truth. I have had several physical healings, among them the healing of nervousness, and am overcoming headaches that used to be frequent, also colds, to which I seemed subject. I am very grateful for all these blessings, but more so for the better understanding of God and of man as His image and likeness. I am trying to reflect that Love which Christ Jesus revealed, to love my neighbor as myself, and to lean on God. My prayer is that all mankind may accept this truth demonstrated by Christ Jesus and made plain to us by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. I find a great deal of help in the Sentinel and our daily newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor. I am also grateful to those who have helped me in the past to see the light of Truth. I have taken no material remedies since beginning this study and find myself a happier, healthier woman.
