I did not take up the study of Christian Science for physical healing, but while studying "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy I was healed of stomach trouble, from which I had suffered since childhood. I was also healed of discontent, which was worse than the disease. I did not know what had done the healing, but kept on reading, and little by little realized that I had to put out of my thought that which was opposed to God, good. As this knowledge has become clearer, all manner of discord and disease has been overcome, in most cases instantaneously. A case of measles was overcome in one day, and high fever has been banished by declaring the "scientific statement of being," as given on page 468 of the textbook.
I could keep on telling of the many proofs of the healing power of Christian Science in my home. It fills me with awe and wonder, as I study our revered Leader's works, to think how closely she followed in the footsteps of Christ Jesus, laboring unselfishly to lead us in his path. Can we do less than try our best to follow when the way is shown us so plainly? I want to express my gratitude for the Christian Science literature.
