San Pedro (Calif.) Pilot
In a recent issue an opponent of Christian Science is quoted as saying of this Science that it is unchristian, unscientific, inconsistent, and absurd. It would be difficult indeed to choose adjectives that would so clearly define the reverse of Christian Science, whose daily and hourly achievements absolutely proclaim it to be preeminently Christian, scientific, consistent, and rational.
Christian Science is Christian because it measures up to the standard of proof established by the Master, who declared, "And these signs shall follow them that believe." Multitudes of once hopeless sufferers and sinners are testifying to the healing and redemptive power of this Science. Christian Science is scientific because it is based upon God, the divine Principle of the universe; consequently its practice is exact and unchanging, always demonstrating the allness of God, the source of all scientific activity.
Christian Science is consistent inasmuch as it never deserts its premise, God, and is eternally engaged in the same activity; namely, the overcoming of evil with good. Christian Science is rational because its practice establishes in mortals a sane standard of living, making them better citizens, parents, and friends, and best of all making them consecrated followers of the Christ.
