Industrial unrest is a symptom of a disease, and mere palliatives will not eradicate the trouble. It is becoming increasingly apparent that behind the physical lies the metaphysical; and if this is applied to the present discussion we shall find some clue to the cause of industrial discord.

Let us examine the system which all admit—whether individualist or collectivist—is, to say the least, permeated with impurities. Where we differ is in the application of the remedy. "Untwisting all the chains that tie the hidden soul of harmony," is the task before the present day thinkers. "The individualistic system of industrialism" is the primary cause of the present trouble. Its essential feature is antisocial, and consequently of an antagonistic nature to the best interests of man.
