Christian Science first came to my attention about five...

Christian Science first came to my attention about five years ago, when as a university student I was seeking through a study of human philosophy the answer to the world-old question of mortal mind, What is truth? I was brought up in an orthodox church, but had given up church attendance through the influence of agnostic thought in the college. Christian Science was brought to me by a college friend and was at first rejected with scorn, because human philosophy had instilled the thought that man cannot know the truth; yet deep down in me something kept reiterating that man can know and must know. After a period of combat and confusion, the barriers of mortal mind began to give way and this demonstrable Christ-teaching became more and more clear.

Since then progress has been a matter of patient, steady study, and as step by step I have been led from the narrow valley of false concepts into the broad fields of Christian Science, my whole life and viewpoint has changed. I have had many healings, all of them mental. The most noteworthy of them is the complete overcoming of belief in socalled pacificism. The authorized literature, especially The Christian Science Monitor, has helped me to enlist in the army of Principle and also to become a better soldier in the United States Army than I could possibly have been otherwise.

Words cannot express my gratitude that the world has Christian Science to-day.
