My heart is overflowing with gratitude for Christian Science and all the authorized literature. Anyone who knows what it is to be healed in Christian Science and to realize the possiblities of this teaching, anyone who has had the joy for a few months of attending the services in one of the London Churches of Christ, Scientist, and then has been placed through circumstances among all that is the very opposite, will have some idea of what the coming of the Sentinel each week means to me. For the last ten years I have been reading the Lesson-Sermons, and words fail to express the joy, the happiness, which the understanding of the Scriptures in the light of Christian Science has brought into my experience.

Not long ago some boiling soup was spilled over my hand. To sense the pain was very severe and the hand appeared badly burned. All sorts of mortal mind suggestions were presented, and I actually turned to plunge my hand into cold water when I remembered it was not scientific to do so. Then I began to declare that there are no accidents in divine Mind, that Love is ever present here and now to heal and help. About half an hour later I was agreeably surprised to find I had forgotten all about the burn and was using my hand in the usual way. There was not a mark of any kind to be seen. This brought to me a joy unspeakable, with the thought of the nearness of God.

When the war broke out I had a great sense of lack, but applied my knowledge of Christian Science, and the result was simply wonderful. Within the last year, again there was a sense of lack in quite an opposite direction. I did not at first think of applying Christian Science, but in trying to solve the difficulty the thought came to me that with God all things are possible, that He had supplied my need in the first instnace, and would do so now. There and then I saw clearly that divine Mind is here and now, and there is no lack, no impossibility; that His supply, His abundance, is never limited, and there is no difficulty that He cannot overcome. Again in a wonderful way divine Love met my need, and that which I had thought impossible was made quite easy.
