It has been eight years since I became interested in Christian Science, and I feel that I should acknowledge my many blessings. After two years of constant doctoring and drugging, I was told by the several physicians who treated me that I would never be a well woman again. I was suffering from rheumatism, heart disease, stomach trouble for which I was on a diet, and defective eyesight for which I had worn glasses eleven years; and I was told that as soon as I was able I would have to be operated on for overian abscesses. As a result of all this suffering and of worry over financial reverses, I was on the verge of a mental breakdown. It was at this time my attention was turned to Christian Science. After a few treatments I was able to lay aside glasses, and they have never been needed since. The healing of the other conditions mentioned seemed to me slow, and many times I became discouraged, but the practitioner by her love and encouragement helped me. I have not needed much help for the past two years for physical discords, but when I have called for it have had results. About three years ago I was stricken with congestion of the lungs and double pleurisy. The suffering seemed great to mortal sense, but although I had an attack of hemorrhage of the lungs this too was overcome with the healing power of Truth. In the past year I have asked for help several times to overcome worry and anxiety and have been wonderfully uplifted. For this I have been very grateful.
To say that I am grateful for all these blessings is to express my feeling mildly. I am grateful for the understanding gained from the daily study of the Bible with our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I am thankful to God for all good, and grateful to our dear Leader for this wonderful truth, also for the Christian Science periodicals.
