For several years I have received many benefits from reading the testimonies in our periodicals; likewise, from hearing them at the Wednesday evening meetings. Four years ago our family physician told us my wife could not live six months unless she submitted to an operation. We consulted a specialist who told us the same thing. After consulting another specialist, who gave us no hope, we turned to Christian Science, and in one treatment my wife was healed. Our daughter had an ugly growth on her cheek which the physician removed twice with a knife and three times with the electric needle treatment, but it came back again. Just at this point came my wife's healing and quite naturally we asked the practitioner to help our daughter. The same night the growth disappeared, not even leaving a scar.

Strange to say, after seeing these marvelous healings in my family, when I was taken ill with pneumonia I called in a physician and took his medicine. My wife and daughter did not remonstrate, but lovingly nursed me till I was declared out of danger. Then a cough asserted itself so persistently that for weeks I could not sleep. The physician said it would require several months' treatment to cure it. I had four kinds of medicine to take at various times besides sprays for the throat. Finally the light came. Then I hastened to the Christian Science practitioner, who advised me and gave me one treatment. I went home, threw out every drop of medicine, and studied the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, together with the Bible, as I had never done before, and suffice it to say the cough left me that very day and never returned. A short time ago an attack of rheumatism prevented me from even lifting my hand to my mouth, but with the aid of a practitioner, who showed me how to rid my consciousness of resentment, I was able in two days to go about my duties.

For these and other healings, and the understanding of the Bible gained by reading it in connection with Science and Health, I am most profoundly grateful.
