Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for all...
Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me since I first heard of it, now some eight or nine years ago. I did not come to it for physical healing, but because it satisfied a deep longing for something better. From the moment I attended the first service I felt that Christian Science was the truth and had no wish to return to the church I had formerly attended. A couple of Sundays afterward my two little boys were placed in the Sunday school and I felt content; but I had to face some years of opposition from my family. I do not regret these experiences, but feel that they were most valuable to my spiritual growth, as through them I learned something of the allness of good and the consequent nothingness of evil.
I have been healed of colds, bloodshot eyes, and a goiter, for which I had been operated on some years before I knew of Christian Science. In one treatment the fear was overcome and a few days afterward the swelling disappeared. My two boys have also been greatly benefited by Christian Science, not only physically but in character. I cannot say how much the Sunday school did for them during the years they attended it. Parents cannot be too grateful for this loving provision for the children.
A family is never so densely material after one of its members has awakened to the spiritual reality of man in God's image. This I feel to be true in my own case; for ever since my sister and I heard of this beautiful truth and tried to put its teachings into practice, our home has become a different place: health has been better, characters have been changed, and its members are more united and loving; indeed, friends who have known us many years have remarked on the change and said what a feeling of peace they experience on coming into the house. If this is the case with one family, what will it be when "this angel visitant," as Mrs. Eddy calls Christian Science (Science and Health, p. 224), is accepted in every household?
