The time has come when I can clearly see the great benefits I have received from Christian Science, and I now wish to let others know something of my experience. On the first occasion when this healing truth came to my help I was cured of a sharp attack of brain fever. At that time I knew practically nothing of this religion, having only attended a few of its Sunday morning services, but my sister knew something of it, and also saw that here was my only hope of recovery. She therefore called in the services of a practitioner and absent treatment was immediately given, with the result that the intense pain and distress were quickly alleviated and I was shortly on the way to complete recovery. After the practitioner's first visit to me the return to normal conditions was very marked and rapid. The visit took place on a Thursday, and I attended service at the Christian Science church here the following Sunday morning. I had suffered from a similar attack five years before, and after weeks in the care of doctors and nurses I had to recuperate for a long time at different coast places, while the opinion was that should I ever take this illness again, I need scarcely expect to live through it.

Scarcely a years after my first healing through the power of Truth came my second experience of Christian Science healing. This time I was laid up with an acute attack of rheumatism. The fever was high, I was indeed very ill, and again the help of a practitioner was requested. This time the cure, though not so quickly manifested, was also speedy and complete. The practitioner very patiently and carefully told me something of the requirements of Christian Science, and showed me that I had much more to do than just simply get well again. Since than I have gone on slowly acquiring more knowledge of Christian Science, and finding it useful in every phase of life. Through trying to put its teaching into practice, I am now able to help myself when anything seems to go amiss, as, for example, in annulling the effects of severe chills, scalding, accidents, and so forth. Better far than all these benefits, however, is the spiritual teaching of this Science, reviving as it does one's faith in God, strengthening the good, and uprooting the evil in one's consciousness, proving that God is, indeed, a very present help in time of trouble.
