Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (First Church).—Virgil O. Strickler, lecturer; introduced by William F. Steinhauer, who said in part:—

I believe it will be generally conceded that in every human heart there is a desire to be better and to do better, and especially is there a desire to know more of God and to know better how to worship and to serve Him. This is what Christian Science is endeavoring to teach mankind; and I rejoice in saying that it is offering no mere theory in this respect, but a teaching that has been proved to be true and available in every human experience, a rule that has delivered thousands of persons from the burden of disease, from immoral habits, and indeed from discordant conditions of every name and nature. Christian Science has proved in many instances that the promises of the gospel are not contingent upon time, but wholly upon understanding.
