Our great Master did not escape the bitter misrepresentation...
Medford (Ore.) Sun
Our great Master did not escape the bitter misrepresentation and assault of those who failed to understand him, or were unwilling to conform their lives to his regenerative teaching. He was accused of being a blasphemer, a glutton, a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. When finally brought before Pilate for trial in answer to the taunts and vicious charges of his enemies, he opened not his mouth. He made no answer in the civil courts of his day to the charges brought against him, and yet he made an answer in the court of universal public opinion which has been ringing down the centuries and is to-day reechoed in Christian Science. To the boastful claims and challenges of the assailants of Christian Science, the answer will ever be more healings of hopeless sufferers, more reclamations of the despairing victims of sin, and the making of the whole wide world a brighter, better place to live in.
