I am sending this testimony to the Sentinel in gratitude for healing and happiness received through the study of Christian Science. My attention was first called to Christian Science almost fifteen years ago when we lived in Denver, Colorado, by the help received by one of my family through the aid of a loving practitioner. A short time after this I became ill myself, and asked for help and was healed quickly. I then wanted to know more about this beautiful truth, which heals the sick as they were healed in the time of Christ Jesus, so I began to read the Christian Science literature, and to study the Bible in connection with Science and Health. I have indeed found health and peace and joy in this study.

In 1910 we moved to Quanah. It was then, when I found myself among strangers and away from other Scientists, that I realized how much Christian Science meant to me; and I continued the study of the Bible and Science and Health more earnestly than ever. I find that if in our daily lives we live this truth as taught in Christian Science, it does indeed meet our every need. Many discordant conditions have been overcome in our home. I have been able to lay off glasses that I had worn for years on account of a structural defect of the eyes.

I wish to speak of another healing. My youngest daughter awoke one morning with her face and neck badly swollen and inflamed with mumps. She asked me to call a practitioner to help her, which I did about seven-thirty in the morning. The pain and inflammation left immediately, and by noon the swelling was almost gone, and by four o'clock it had all disappeared. She missed just one day of school.
