Christian Scientists are not afraid to come out into the...
The British Citizen
Christian Scientists are not afraid to come out into the open, as a critic seems to think. The statement that "God is All-in-all" (Science and Health, p. 468) necessarily raises the question, What is God? The Bible tells us that God is Life, Truth, Love, Spirit, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent. Since Spirit is omnipresent, Spirit must have omnipresent manifestation. The spiritual universe, including spiritual man, is therefore the infinite manifestation of God, Spirit.
A Christian Scientist is certainly not concerned with the origin of evil, or, as our critic says, "where the false comes from." He knows the futility of such a quest. His time is fully occupied with the demonstration of the infinitude of God, good. On page 275 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, the following statement appears: "The starting-point of divine Science is that God, Spirit, is All-in-all, and that there is no other might nor Mind,—that God is Love, and therefore He is divine Principle." The vast multitude of men, women, and children the world over who have been healed and regenerated through the teachings of Christian Science offers a striking testimony of its beneficent effect upon humanity.
