About sixteen years ago I was healed through Christian Science of a mental trouble, supposed to be inherited. I was subject to attacks of melancholia so severe that I even attempted to commit suicide. These spells of extreme depression have faded away gradually as the result of the constant study and practice of Christian Science. After all these years I have developed a perception of good; I see good around me and opportunities for good in every circumstance. I find even the ability to interpret the unusual and unexpected as illustrations of God's love. This charm in life came to me slowly, little by little, with day after day of study and watchfulness. The new heaven and the new earth now welcome me. The rhythm of the universe holds me, and I praise God continually.
