My hope is that this testimony may be of help to some one looking for the truth. I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing myself, but through the healing of my wife, for which I thank God daily. For twenty-two years she was treated by doctors, and she went through twenty-three operations in England and Wales, but without benefit. In 1910 she was asked by a neighbor in this city if she had ever tried Christian Science. My wife had never heard the name before, but she accepted it without a doubt, believing it was that for which she had been looking for years. This lady lent her a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and I noticed that as she read this book she was growing brighter all the time. Then I thought there must be something good in it, so I began to read the book, and I have not passed a day without reading it in over six years. I have been healed of the tobacco habit, after having been a great smoker for thirty-three years.
I thank God for the blessings that Christian Science brings to our home daily, and am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her study and faithful work and for this teaching which she has made so clear that every one can work out his own salvation.—David Jones, Vancouver, B. C., Canada.
I wish to verify my husband's statement of my healing through Christian Science. I had suffered from stomach disorder for over twenty years and a malignant growth finally developed. This with female trouble caused me many years of misery. I was healed through reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and the healing gave me such a spiritual uplift that for three months I was not conscious of the body. This was to me at the time most wonderful. I had seen a great light and wanted every one else to see it too, so in my zeal I uttered the absolute truth when I had but little spiritual understanding, and had many downfalls as a result. I had to come down from the mountain top and work up, building on a spiritual foundation.
