From the Press

[From an editorial in Boston (Mass.) Advertiser]

When the Red Cross devotes a part of this immense fund to vivisection experiments a considerable element of the community sincerely believes that it misdirects the money which has been contributed to it to a purpose for which that money was not given. There are a great many contributors throughout this country who entertain this view and would like to have the officers of the Red Cross know that they entertain this view.

When the Red Cross devotes money of the people to vivisection experiments instead of to alleviating suffering, a great number of very intelligent, very sympathetic, and very patriotic people firmly believe that it is creating suffering, and the many thousands of people who are opposed to vivisection object to such a perversion of the funds. And people who have no opinion one way or the other about vivisection are disposed to object to the Red Cross using its funds for any purpose other than the purpose for which they were subscribed.
