[Written for the Sentinel]

Radiance

Now do the constant stars their vigil hold
O'er sleeping earth until the morning breaks;
So Love doth guard us till Life's laws unfold,
And from its dream the world to Truth awakes.

The sun's rays stream e'en into prison cell,
Imparting glory where was sullen gloom.
Thus hidden depths of thought doth Love illume,
And all that darkens human sense dispel.
