It is ten years since, through great mental and physical suffering, I was led to investigate and gladly accept Christian Science. From the first reading of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I realized I had found the true interpretation of God and of man's relation to Him. The "pearl of great price" had been placed within my reach, and during the years that have passed since then, this treasure has become daily more precious to me. Numerous healings have been experienced in our home, my husband and children as well as myself having relied on the power of Truth as taught in Christian Science for the overcoming of every ill that has presented itself, and we have never found it wanting. In cause of accident, extreme pain, and contagion it has been found equally effective.

In March, 1916, my son, then a lad of nineteen, while working in a near-by city, became very ill and returned home. As it was necessary for him to have a physician's certificate in order to hold his position, he was examined by two physicians who diagnosed his case as sciatica, lumbago, and neuralgia, the latter affecting the stomach and heart. The joints had become greatly enlarged and he was unable at times to stand or walk uprightly. A great deal of fear was manifested by members of the family and friends not interested in Christian Science, who believed the boy was going to be crippled permanently, but a practitioner was asked for help, with the result that the boy was entirely healed in less than three months and has never had the slightest return of the trouble, although he worked for some time the following summer in a place where he was obliged to have his hands and arms in ice water much of the time.

When war was declared this son wished to enlist in the navy, and the examining physicians declared him physically perfect. He is in the service and is in perfect health. This experience has been wonderfully helpful to me and has enabled me to remain calm and peaceful, without a trace of fear for his safety, knowing that the divine Love which healed him when material remedies would have been unavailing, can and will protect him and keep him whole anywhere and under any conditions.
