There Is No Evil

Poets and dramatists, for the sake of picturesque imagery, have depicted in various ways their concepts of a mighty personal devil. In "Paradise Lost" Milton has written:—

Incensed with indignation, Satan stood
Unterrified, and like a comet burned,
That fires the length of Ophiuchus huge
In the artick sky, and from his horrid hair
Shakes pestilence and war.
