When Christian Science found me I was a physical wreck,...

When Christian Science found me I was a physical wreck, suffering from heart trouble in its worst form, stomach disorder, Bright's disease, gallstones, frequent attacks of appendicitis, and fear of having inherited lung trouble, as my mother's family had passed on with this disease. When my attention was called to Christian Science, I read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy and the Sentinel every minute possible, and these ailments vanished into their native nothingness in a few months. I had worn glasses constantly for more than eighteen years; these were also laid aside. Many other discordant conditions were overcome in my family. My daughter was healed of what is called typhoid pneumonia and of inflammatory rheumatism through the help of faithful practitioners. My little boy, aged five years, is very receptive to the truth. He has been healed of whooping cough, diphtheria, fractured bone, and minor ailments in a very short time. I have made many demonstrations for him by singing hymns.

I am indeed grateful for the Hymnal, for all of Mrs. Eddy's writings, and for the literature provided for us each day, week, and month. While the physical healings mean much to me, I am more grateful for the spiritual uplift and a clearer understanding of God. I have been able to help others in many ways and am trying each day to obey the command in Matthew, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." I have also many times proved Jesus' words, "If ye continue in my word, ... ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

When my husband passed on, Christian Science was my only comfort, and it has been a protection and sustaining power for five years. I feel no desire whatever for material remedies, but find that Christian Science not only heals sin and disease but is a practical religion to be applied to every daily problem. I also find it a religion of love, for it teaches me to love my neighbor as myself. To say that I am grateful does not express my love for this beautiful truth. I trust my testimony will help others.
