After witnessing the healing of my aunt by Christian Science I took up its study, and I soon realized that it must be the same truth which Jesus taught and practiced. Through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of severe throat trouble from which I had suffered since childhood, also of catarrh and stomach disorder. The truth of the declaration, "The Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save," has been proved for me many times in the twenty years that I have been striving to assimilate the teachings of Christian Science. In case of accidents the healing truth is always ready. One time while I was using a gas range, I opened the oven door and there was an escape of gas, which ignited with a loud report. My clothing caught fire and my arms were burned so that the skin from the elbow down came off as my burned undersleeves were removed; but the Scripture promise, "When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee," was in my thought from the first, and after treatment from a practitioner I had no suffering and in a very short time my arm was healed without a scar.

My little son, now nine years old, has never tasted medicine and is strong and well. The measles, whooping cough, and other ailments common to children have been overcome with the truth as taught by Mrs. Eddy. I am very grateful for our inspiring periodicals, and never read one of them without being conscious of some good received.
