I take this opportunity of expressing my gratitude for a healing which followed a lecture given in Glasgow in 1910. Science and Health was lent to me, reaching me on the first day of that year. Soon afterwards a small child whom I had adopted was struck down with measles, and in the period of convalescence which followed I took her from Dundee to Glasgow to stay with a friend. The following week this lecture took place, and I was determined to get there. I succeeded in doing so after putting the wee one to bed; what I heard I could not tell anybody—I only know that, filled with the word of Truth, I went back calm and confident. I was told the child was in a high fever, but it made not the slightest impression on me; I sat down quietly to supper, after which I said good night, and retired. Lifting the child from her cot I took her in beside me. Her little head, laid against mine, was burning hot, but within a moment or two it became quite cool, and she slept calmly till morning.

I was extremely grateful for this, my first healing for another, and from that time on Christian Science has been our only physician. It has freed me from faults of character, financial limitation, and other discordant conditions, sometimes through my own realization of the truth and sometimes through the loving help of a practitioner. I have had the great privilege of class instruction, and for the past three years have been privileged to work on the literature distribution committee, and what this has meant to my own growth in spiritual understanding it would be difficult for me to express. Suffice it to say that I am endeavoring to live Christian Science in my daily life, to let my light so shine before men that they may glorify my Father which is in heaven.—(Mrs.) Jane Wise, London, England.
