Philadelphia, Pa. (First Church).—John W. Doorly, lecturer; introduced by Philip S. Tilden, who said in part:—

Sometimes I have been asked the question, Why are you a Christian Scientist? My reply has usually been about like this: Because Christian Science has brought into my life most of the happiness, the joy, the peace and comfort I have known; because it has helped me and healed me morally, mentally, and physically; because it has given me the ability to withstand the shock of seeming disaster and discord; because it has taught me the correct way to read and understand the Bible; and because it has taught me the truth about God. I believe this would be the answer of every one who is humbly trying to put into practice this great truth.
