I have been studying Christian Science for a little over two years, and have been healed of a number of things, such as drunkenness, the tobacco habit, and profanity. I still have errors to overcome, but am indeed thankful to God for this truth that is able to help us in this present world. The ship I was on was struck by two torpedoes, and sank. After the sailors had taken to lifeboats and life rafts the submarine came up and loaded her guns as if to shell us. This is when God's help was resorted to and it was not found wanting. Within a few minutes the guns were unloaded, and we were treated as fellow men from then on. For this wonderful proof of God's presence and power I am indeed grateful.

May I add that I am thankful for the help received from Christian Scientists who declare the truth for us sailors and soldiers at the front, and also very thankful for my Bible and new copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" which I got on my return trip to New York about ten minutes after going ashore. Time and space will not permit me to say half that I would like to say, but I can say one thing,—that I am thankful to God for every good thing which has come to me.—Charles W. Bentley, U.S.N.
