That all of Jesus' commands are binding upon his followers...

Kalamazoo (Mich.) Gazette

That all of Jesus' commands are binding upon his followers is the teaching of Christian Science, and Christian Scientists accept the whole gospel,—the undivided garment of Christ. In the first epistle of John we read, "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."

Christian Science being the law of God, its true advocates who understand its teaching do not under any circumstances abandon its Principle. Doing so would be tantamount to abandoning God Himself, and no religious denomination honors God to a greater extent than does Christian Science. The Christian Scientist accepts the Bible statement that God is omnipotent, and says with Jesus, "I can of mine own self do nothing;" "But the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."

To the Pharisees' question as to when the kingdom of God should come, Jesus answered, "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: ... for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." Christian Science accepts this statement of Jesus and in strict accord therewith teaches that heaven is not a locality but a divine state of Mind, attainable here and now by those who truly understand God and walk in His ways.
