There is not a day passes in which I do not have occasion...

There is not a day passes in which I do not have occasion to be grateful for Christian Science, and especially since my enlistment in the Army have I found the truth to be an ever present help in time of trouble. One of the first manifestations of Love's protection was deliverance from homesickness. It was the day before Christmas. I was a stranger in the camp, and the sense of homesickness was very strong; but during the course of the day I had occasion to divide the contents of a gift box with another soldier who seemed to be in the same mental condition, and in trying to cheer him up I found myself so much happier that it set me to thinking right. I could not be lonesome with God's children all about me. Home is state of consciousness in which Love is supreme. Then I realized that my home is everywhere, for Love is everywhere present. The homesickness vanished and I spent a happy Christmas, although I was called upon to work in the camp kitchen all day.

Through Christian Science I have been relieved of the customary sickness following typhoid inoculation and have had stolen articles restored to me. Christian Science has protected me from any sense of fear or sickness. It is also teaching me to see each person as the perfect idea of Principle, regardless of what he may seem to express outwardly. I am very grateful for the authorized literature and the work of the Camp Welfare committees.
