My apparent delay in expressing my gratitude for the...
My apparent delay in expressing my gratitude for the many blessings received through Christian Science has not been due to lack of appreciation of them or of gratitude to God, the great and only Physician. I will tell of a most trying experience through which I passed, and of my final and complete recovery through Christian Science treatment.
Some time ago I met with a serious accident and was taken to my residence in an unconscious condition. A physician was called in, and upon examination found the collar bone broken and one shoulder out of place, besides many bruises. An order was sent to a near-by drug store for divers material remedies; but in a few days, as I appeared to be growing weaker, my family and I became alarmed, and an immediate change of treatment was decided upon. The doctor was informed of my condition and that we had decided to try Christian Science. A practitioner was called by telephone, and with the first treatment I felt the influence of God's help. The adhesive plaster was removed, and after ten day's treatment I walked down town, which is over a mile from my residence, and have taken the walk nearly every week day since, as my business requires my attention. The broken parts knitted perfectly, although at the time I was seventy-four years of age, and I have never felt the least inconvenience since. I find myself in perfect condition in every way, for which I am truly grateful.
Among the beautiful passages I find in the Bible, the tenth verse of the forth-first chapter of Isaiah is particularly interesting, and reads as follows: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." The beautiful and inspiring works of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, are leading the world's people on to better and happier lives as they see a bright light shed along the straight and narrow path.
