Christian Scientists have discovered no new Bible, and no one from Mrs. Eddy down to the least of us has made any such claim; but they do claim to have found the spiritual truth contained in the Bible of our fathers, which has so long been hidden by man-made, material doctrines and dogma. The first of the tenets of Christian Science, found on page 497 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," reads as follows: "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life."

When the world shall know and understand the truth about Christian Science and what it stands for and what it is doing for mankind, it will clearly see what our enemies are striking at. Christian Science stands for everything that is pure and holy; for everything that is true, ennobling, and honest among men; for everything that bears the fruits of correct and righteous living, together with all that Love inspires for the betterment, freedom, and spiritual development of the race.

Christian Science reveals to us an ever present, loving heavenly Father, and has made actual the promises of Christ Jesus. It surely should not be regarded as a crime against Christianity that a pure, noble, and self-sacrificing New England woman discovered a positive and scientific spiritual law and rule, whereby we can prove by actual demonstration all of the theory of truth, which has been preached for ages as a dead letter, so far as the sick were concerned. Christian Scientists are trying to emulate the master Christian, Christ Jesus the Way-shower, but find this cannot be done in its completeness unless the healing of sickness as well as of sin should bear testimony of a true and obedient ministry of Christ.
