Many weary years were spent in the wilderness until Christian Science came to awaken me from the depths of despair to the understanding of Life, Truth, and Love. I had often prayed God to help me lead a more spiritual life, and often wondered why my prayer was not answered. I know now that it was answered from the first, but it was for me to rise from my false beliefs into the spiritual realm of being, and to know God as ever present Love, showing mercy to them who seek Him.

Christian Science was presented to me by a loving neighbor who lent me "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I read it through and returned it; but it seemed as if something had gone out of my life, so I requested the loan of the book again. I then studied it in earnest and attended the Christian Science services. I shall never forget the joy and peace that took place within me. I knew I had found what I had so often prayed for. I had never read the Bible, but with the help of the textbook it soon became a beautiful book to me. Many healings have taken place since I took up the study of Christian Science three years ago, and many of God's promises have been fulfilled. The first healing in my home was that of my little girl, who had been a great sufferer from inflammatory rheumatism and heart trouble from the time she was three years old. The doctors could give me no hope of her ever being completely cured; but by reading Science and Health along with the Bible, she was healed. She is now eight years old and in perfect health.

I am thankful to God for all His blessings, but the greatest blessing of all is the spiritual uplift and the understanding of Truth that I have gained through the teachings of Christian Science. There is much room for improvement, but by daily, yes, hourly working, watching, and praying for that Mind to be in me "which was also in Christ Jesus," I shall not be found wanting. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her spiritual insight, which enabled her to bring to light the truth that makes free, as taught by Jesus. I should like to express my gratitude for the Sunday school, which helps the children to work out their little problems in school, home, or play; also for the benefit I have received from the periodicals.—(Mrs.) Charlotte Scott, Bayonne, N.
