Among the Churches

Current Notes

Buckhannon, W. Va.—The Wednesday evening testimony meeting of August 21 marked the opening of the new quarters of the Christian Science Society. For more than three years services have been held at the MacAvoy Studio, and for nearly two years a reading room has been maintained at 9 Main Street, but it seemed expedient to secure better and more convenient quarters, so the second floor of the Newlon Building on Main Street was secured and has been attractively arranged as service room, reading room, and coat rooms.

Sandusky, Ohio.—The Sunday school of First Church of Christ, Scientist, has invested its money in War Savings stamps and has become a member of the Thousand Dollar Club. The subscription was credited to the public schools of the city. This is the first subscription from a Sunday school in the county.—Sandusky Star-Journal.

Norwich, Conn.—A Christian Science church is to be established in the village. The location is in Gravel Street. A very old house is to be remodeled, and the work was begun Friday [Aug. 2] by the contractor. There will be many changes on the grounds.—Norwich Bulletin.
