Words cannot express my gratitude for what Christian Science...

Words cannot express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me every day, and it is an ever present help in the rearing of my children. It is such a consolation to know that wherever they are, God is caring for them. I took up Christian Science on account of my eyes, after having been to an eye specialist in Kansas City every other day for two months without finding any relief, and afterward to St. Louis, where I was treated every day for two weeks and a part of the time two and three times a day. My suffering was intense, and the specialist said I would always have trouble with my eyes and would have to wear glasses with a very thick lens.

I came home discouraged, but was led by divine Love to attend a lecture on Christian Science. I was so sure it would help me that the very next day I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and a few days later went to see a practitioner. In ten days from the time I began reading the textbook I took off my glasses, and have not used them since, nor have I felt any need for them during the past four years. I have also been healed of neuritis, acute attacks of stomach trouble, severe headaches that lasted several days, chronic bowel disorder, and several other ailments, as well as worry. For all this I am very grateful. I also find Christian Science indispensable in my every-day life. There is no problem it cannot solve if applied correctly, and it is a great pleasure to me to be able to help others. I have been greatly discouraged at times, but find it is for my own good that the way sometimes seems rough and thorny.

I would like to relate how divine Love protects us when we are seemingly in danger. On account of high waters and washed out bridges I was delayed for about a week from reaching my destination. On the sixth day the trains on one road began to run as usual. A bridge we had to cross was being repaired, but was considered safe. Our train started across, but when halfway over, the bridge began to tremble, so the engineer stopped the train and then backed off. It was decided that we should wait until a train came from the opposite direction, when passengers could be exchanged. All that could were to walk across the bridge, and the rest would be taken on hand cars. I walked across, a gentleman carrying my baby, and I never had the least fear for its safety or mine. This was in the afternoon, and on the following morning the damaged end of the bridge was washed away.
