I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. About two years ago I was taken with severe headache. This condition lasted for four weeks, and I suffered night and day during that time. A doctor who was called to see if he could do anything for me, said my trouble was caused from biliousness. He gave me some medicine, but it brought no relief. Finally there was what the doctor called a cerebral hemorrhage, which paralyzed my whole right side so that I could not move a finger, and both speech and sight left me almost entirely. I remained in that state for two weeks without any apparent change, although taken to the hospital the third day.

I had heard of Christian Science previous to this, and had friends who were loyal Scientists, but as I did not understand its teaching I had not given any thought to it. Having little faith that the doctors could do anything for me, however, I decided to try it, so requested my husband to bring me a copy of Science and Health which a friend had loaned me. At that time I could not see to read, but I tried a little each day and very soon could see every letter plainly. This gave me hope, so I continued to read, although I could not sleep nights, because of so much suffering. In a couple of days I discovered that the awful pressure at the base of the brain had ceased, and from that day I began to improve, with the help of a friend who was knowing the truth for me.

In four weeks from the time I was taken to the hospital I was up and walking about without any support whatever, and I left there in a few days. I went to my friend's house and stayed two weeks, having treatment during that time, and also studying faithfully that I might get a better understanding of Christian Science. I improved so much that I was then able to go home, and in a very short time was doing most of my work. I have also been healed of hernia of ten years' standing, of bladder trouble, and of chronic bowel disorder. I have gained in weight and never felt better in my life.
