After about eight months of service at the front I feel...

After about eight months of service at the front I feel that it is my duty to give a testimony saying how very grateful I am for the many benefits received through Christian Science. On several occasions I have had to material sense some narrow escapes, and at times things have looked very dark; but after a few moments of reflection and turning my thoughts to God, good, all fear and anxiety has passed away. During the recent advance this has come home to me more forcibly. One day after coming out from the trenches we were marching along the road, which was being shelled heavily, when the two men next to me were hit. One passed away and the other was wounded, but I came through without a scratch.

I look forward to receiving the Sentinel and the Monitor, which are sent to me weekly, though at times it is not convenient to read them until I am out at rest. Again I must say how grateful I am to Mrs. Eddy and her teachings for what they are doing for me and mine.
