These lines are written with deep gratitude to those who have contributed articles and testimonies to our periodicals. There has not been one of these which has not contained something that was a godsend at the time. In September, 1915, it seemed best to give up my home in Kansas City, Kan., and go to Shawnee, Kan., to take charge of a grocery store. I managed the store with the help of three men who knew I had no experience and treated me with contempt. Every morning, however, I would rise early, read the Bible and Science and Health, then look over the Journal and start about my Father's business.

There were times when the inharmony depressed me greatly, but it only made me realize more clearly the divine ever-presence. Daily I declared that God walked with me; daily and hourly I prayed for help. This lasted until one night in December, when a man who came in inquired if the store was for sale. I told him it was if he made me a good proposition. Two days later I made him the offer to trade the stock and fixtures in exchange for a house and lot, and a few days afterward the deal went through without a drawback.

During those months of trying experience I learned to say, "God's will, not mine, be done;" and in every need I would find somewhere in our literature divine Love speaking a comforting, helpful word. No one can realize my gratitude, for I came out of deep infidelity into this dearly loved Christian Science. I am thankful to God for our dear Leader, whose work lives on.
