Christian Science came to me when I was in great need of healing. For two years I had suffered from rheumatism; every joint in my body was affected and my arms were distorted. Hot springs, medical treatment, and other means of relief failed to help me, and I was rapidly growing worse. Christian Science was mentioned to me while at the hot springs, and one week later I returned home and bought the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

From that day my life was changed. All desire for medicine left me from the hour I started reading, and with the help of a practitioner I was healed not only of the rheumatism but of extreme nervousness and chronic bowel trouble. Since then ptomaine poisoning and headaches have been overcome, and an abscess in my ear was healed with one treatment. The physical freedom is something for which to be grateful, but the spiritual understanding of Christian Science means much more to me and meets my every need.

I am indeed thankful to God for the one that was pure enough to give this healing truth to mankind. Never have I enjoyed such good health, such peace of mind, as since I have gained, even in a small way, an understanding of Christian Science.—Maude Purcell, Los Angeles, Cal.
