Belfast, Ireland (First Church).—John W. Doorly, lecturer; introduced by P. W. Bryan, who said in part:—
Looking out upon the many discordant elements that seem to prevail in the world to-day, men and women are filled with unsatisfied longing for something that seems lacking in the scheme of things; for something that will lift them above their material surroundings and draw them nearer to that unseen power which men call God; for something which will enable them to feel that God is an ever present help available to meet their daily needs. They are seeking, in other words, for truth—for the truth about God and His relationship to man and the universe. Christian Science claims to set forth that truth, and to prove its teachings in the way our Master, Christ Jesus, commanded his followers to do,—by preaching the gospel, the good news, and by healing the sick and the sinner.
