Among the Churches

Current Notes

Richmond Hill, N. Y .—First Church of Christ, Scientist, took title on Sept. 6 to a plot of ground 100 by 100 feet, located on Chestnut Street, between Jamaica and Lexington Avenues. This, in conjunction with their present property, gives the church a frontage of 100 feet on Greenwood Avenue and 100 feet on Chestnut Street. On this lot they anticipate erecting a permanent structure. The house now standing on the newly acquired property will, after alterations, be used for a reading room and other church activities. The present church structure will be enlarged to accommodate the ever increasing congregations until such time as a permanent church is erected.—Richmond Hill Record.

Philadelphia, Pa.—On Sept. 30, Third Church of Christ, Scientist, held its first service in the new church edifice which is situated on Park Avenue below Berks Street. The building and furnishing of this church, including the organ, will cost a little more than fifty thousand dollars.
