The Lectures
The introductory remarks of August Schaper, first reader of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, in presenting John Randall Dunn, who lectured on Christian Science, were as follows:—
Throughout the ages all mankind has sought health, happiness, and peace. There is a conviction in every human heart that to find God would be to gain them. Centuries ago Job said, "Oh that I knew where I might find him!" This longing cry has echoed down the ages, and throughout the world there has been a yearning to know more of God. The students of Christian Science feel that they have found the answer to this momentous question through the truth as revealed in the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
